I was actually the on fire little kid who brings all of her friends to church. I loved going to worship and VBS growing up and brought all of my neighborhood friends with me. As we moved around throughout my school years, I trusted God but didn't have the close relationship with him that I wanted. In college, I dated a guy from a different denomination who constantly challenged my faith. He told me that I didn't know the Scriptures and was constantly fighting with me about their interpretation. All of this led me to a deeper faith and an awakening within myself regarding the spiritual gifts and how the Holy Spirit is using them today. I was able to fully trust in God and let Him lead me where I was to go. During my junior year I woke up one morning and looked at my roomate and said "I think I'm supposed to go to Hong Kong." I needed a student teaching assignment and couldn't find one anywhere. She thought I'd hit my head too many times on the ceiling of our room and had lost it. I checked w/my advisor and she got all of the paperwork done. My entire trip was paid for by the college and they even paid me to graduate. God has led me on many adventures since then including helping to open an orphanage, spending a year on the road doing youth ministry around the USA, meeting my husband and moving to a new state, the birth of our daughter, adoption of our son, and now the adoption of our second daughter. He is so good and has blessed us in so many ways. I thank Him for the people He has blessed my life with and the amazing things He continues to do.
