I have always known Christ. He was first introduced to me by my grandmother who I thank dearly. Fortunately my family have always been a family of devoted biblical background. I raised 6 children with being widowed at the age of 20. We had always went to church and I didnt understand why God would take my husband away with 3 kids (ages 3,2,and 1) and being six months pregnant. I was mad at him for awhile, quit attending church, doing my own thing. But there was a void the entire time. After some healing, I went back to church, many churces. Looking for what each had to offer with their denominational messages. I was raised baptist, and although that seemed good enough, I just needed to see if I was missing anything. I finally settled down into a non-denominational church that me and my kids really loved. When I moved back to my hometown, I had to begin the whole process of church hunting all over. After attending several I found Church on Fire and I couldnt be happier. It has been over the last few years, that I became not just someone who heard of god and feared and loved him. But I never did get the wow factor that you CAN actually have a one on one relationship with him. Once I "got" this, my life has not been the same. Having 6 adult children, with many grandchildren there comes alot of trials. From the time they are kids trying to keep clothes on them and feeding them, throughout school getting through each graduation. Then as adults, seeing them struggle with their own children raising them in a world of high prices and secular beliefs. Then on a personal side of raising 6 kids as a single parent, to being abused in relationships, to being raped, and molested. I am now 46 and it wasnt until about 3 years ago that I got the whole picture. Having raised all my kids by myself, I became a pretty efficient, controlling, take charge kind of person. Then one day I realized that it was more than I could deal with at that point and said "okay God", "I give up". "I cant do this by myself anymore" and I REALLY gave him the control. The rest is just bliss. Once I truly gave up the control, and let him handle things, he hasnt stopped. I cant put it into words, it just became...everything. Within a month and a half the following came about. Where half of my children, including their spouses werent working, the Lord gave them jobs. When the house next door, caught fire one night, we made a circle and we prayed (Its a big circle for us lol). Even though the house was only about 25 feet away and burned to the ground, our house was never even harmed. Houses and cars on the other side of the street were damaged with melted vinyl, blistered paint etc. The electric line of the burning house exploded, but we never lost power. We had all gathered that day for my granddaughters birthday Jaidyn. The same one that was born with a defective heart and had open heart surgery when she was 4 months old (and the same one that the doctors say whose heart seems to be healing ways they cant understand)(I know..prayer). I have so many testimonies I cant even begin to list them all here. Now I look back and I think WHY did I wait so long to give everything to him. How much greater did I think I was to take care of things than the Lord. Its a daily learning experience, I keep reading my bible and listening to other sermons like Joyce Meyer, James Dobson, Ken Ham, Charles Stanley, Max Lacado, and numerous other ones. My goal is to begin to do evangelism, I would like to start with a place where 2 missionaries who attended our church are, Guinea-Bissau in Africa. Along with that I am working on the biggest thing I believe being the problem with our country today. The decline in christianity in our daily lives as a society. We are getting away from a christian foundation and going towards a secular/evolutionary foundation. I suggest that anyone who gets a chance to listen to Ken Ham's series on creation evangelism listens to all his tapes. It shows how our country is being hijacked by evolutionary principles in our schools. Thereby with this being the foundation of many in our society leads our kids to think there is no absolute authority to answer to...therefore our society is basically heading towards a "me" type of authority where there is no boundaries, no consequences to their actions. If this continues to be, our country as we once new it will be to far to bring back. Please take the time to listen to these valuable messages (answersingenesis.org).
