The Lord intervened in my life through the program called House of Hope. Before H.O.H. I had been in and out of a psychiatric hospital, been in a detention center for drugs, tried to kill myself multiple times, gotten the HPV virus which leads to cervical cancer from sleeping with a guy, and many other things had happened.
When I Heard my mom was sending me to H.O.H. I was furious. I Went the day after my seventeenth birthday and was convinced I could fake my way out of there like I had with the hospitals. It wasn't the case. The hospitals didn't have such a tight relationship with God. During the program I learned that God does actually exist and he loves me no matter what I do. I don't have the Virus anymore. I have been almost a year and 1/2 drug/ alcohol free, I know that when I call out, God hears me, and I have a sense of purpose now. I'm almost done with the program, I am now on Home Phase and just have to finish my Bible study to be done. I am finished with highschool with a 3.03 GPA which is awesome because I never thought I would even graduate. Things are looking up and I have a bright future ahead of me and it is all because of God and my willingness.
We have to be willing to work with Him for Him to work with us. But even if we're not willing, He is always there beckoning us. Asking us to come and be with Him, and He does not give up on us. He loves us too much to do that.
