I was raised in the Catholic religion and often questioned what they would teach. We would pray to saints but would think what the first commandment says: Thou shall have no other gods before me. I would do my confessions to the priest, but would think he's a man and isn't perfect - why should I confess my sins to a sinner? I had done all one should do in the Catholic religion my communion, confirmation, went to CCD and did my confessions every 3 months. I still felt there had to be more that these traditions. Going to church had become a routine, everything was timed. You were in and out in an hour!! When I was in the 8th grade and 13 years old. I was going on a school Choir field trip. I was getting on the bus and I heard a good friend from grade school who was Baptist and sitting at the back of the bus say that if you don't accept Jesus has your savior you will go to hell. She didn't say it loud she was talking to someone next to her but amazingly my ears heard what she said. I immediately went up to her and asked her to explain what she said. Where does it say that if you don't accept Jesus as your savior? She told me that in the bible it says if you don't accept Jesus has your savior you would go to hell. She then told me all you have to do is to ask Jesus to forgive you and ask him to come into your heart. That night before going to bed I prayed. I remember telling Jesus that I didn't know if what my friend had told me was true but if it was do what you had to do. I that very moment I felt my heart literally warm up and at that moment I knew I was born again. After that day my friend never spoke to me again about religion. I still attended my Catholic church a tried to stay out of trouble. It wasn't till I was a sophomore in High School that I attended a Christian Church. My mother one day had told me they had invited her to a Christian church and asked me if I wanted to go. I went and regret it at that time. It was a 4 hour service on a Wednesday night and I was itching to get out (it was a concert)! After many weeks of her asking me to come again with her to church I finally decided to go again. On the night of 2.9.1995, I rededicate my life to the Lord and I felt his presence once again.
