I was 30 years old and suffering from OCD and postnatal depression. I had a new baby, we had just moved and and there was a lot of hurt from the past that was bringing me down. I couldn't talk to anyone about how I was feeling because some of it was embarrassing and I didn't trust people.
We had a new doctor because we had moved and I went to him about my depression and negative thoughts caused by OCD. He gave me medication but he also prayed for me.
My health visitor came to see how I was getting on and I broke down and cried because the negative thoughts wouldn't go away. She told me about a counsellor who lived nearby and I met up with her.Beryl was very easy to talk to and I felt that her house was a safe place to be. It was peaceful and I began to trust her and was able to tell her things I had never told anyone else before.
Beryl started to talk about Jesus and showing me prophecies about him. She told me he was a live today something I had not realised. I thought he had died years ago. After spending time with Beryl I would go home and read for myself what the bible said about Jesus. I found it was true Jesus had been raised from the dead and was now sitting at the right hand of God.
I read so many different books to find out about God and Jesus and one thing I came across was that Jesus still heals today.
I thought to myself that I had nothing to lose if Jesus was real he could heal me so In my dining room I asked Jesus into my life. At that moment it felt as if God was all around me and I realised it was the Holy Spirit surrounding me. The Holy Spirit was stopping my fears.
I told my doctor and he was thrilled and he also gave me praise tapes to listen to which helped in the healing of depression.
I found that over the years God has healed me of lots of emotional things and physical things and experienced the love of God so abundantly.
I am so grateful that my health visitor put me in touch with Beryl and that she told me about Jesus. He has changed my life for better.
