I became a Christian in June 2000 during Vacation Bible School when I was 10 years old. It had been a very hard time in my life. My grandfather, who was my best friend, passed away from pancreatic cancer, we were blessed with the birth of new baby, and we moved halfway across the state, and I was very lonely. Jesus filled the loneliness I was experiencing. It was the one of the happiest days of my life.
I grew as a Christian for a while, up until college, actually. I became very depressed during my first year at school, and I didn't turn to Jesus to heal myself. I got involved with a guy who I thought I was going to marry. He became the center of my life, but I always felt like something was missing. Eventually, I gave my virginity to him, something I regret to this day. Nothing every filled the hole in my soul. I cried for hours each week not knowing what to do.
Then, one day, I was driving around early in the morning, and I heard Tenth Avenue North's song "Hold My Heart," and I prayed for God to forgive me for all the wrong things I had done. My life began to change. I left the guy I was with and finally put Jesus back in His right spot in my heart. His love and grace is incredible!
