How Would I Have Known?
I was raised in a very loving, but strict home. My mother was a minister and I had to tow the line with both Mom and my wonderful Father. I grew up loving the Lord but not totally experiencing His guidance in my life. I was a goody-two-shoes till I got to college and then found out who I was, much to my error. I was quite wild, promiscuous, and very independent. I focused on doing 'MY' thing and not God's. I hurt not only others but myself clear up till August 17, 2002. On that day after two divorces, and two wonderful boys later, God allowed my oldest son Andrew Paul Weaver, age 20, to be taken home in an automobile accident. That day I called on God to help me, realizing I couldn't do this on MY own anymore, I was a failure and I needed His help in my life. From that day on to this day my life has never meant more. Through the fight to save the life of the young man, Jeff, who drove the car that killed Andy, forgiving and then 'adopting' him as my seragot son, loving his folks, and now his wife and their babies as my grandchildren, God has been GREAT! I strive daily to show through my life and love, the great mercy of my Lord and Savior and His forgiveness of who we become. I may have lost one son, but God has blessed me 100 fold in the teens & twenty yr olds that I now have 'adopted' and love unconditionally. As the song from Kathy Troccoli says: How would I have known that my God could deliver and set free? I thank God for bringing me back to HIM!
