Okay, so I always say that I don't have much of a story to tell because I was brought up in a Christian home where Church and Sunday school had always been a part of my life. I said the sinners prayer one night in my bed before I fell asleep at the age of 13. But, over the years I have realized that God has a unique, individual plan for everyone's life. No matter what we go through God will take any experience that we have had (good or bad) and use it to help someone else down the road.
I am thankful every day of my life that God placed me in the family that He did. They may not be perfect, but they knew how important it was to have Jesus in your life. I grew up in South Jersey where I attended a few churches over the years. In my teen years I was involved in youth group at a methodist church. With this youth group I had gone on several retreats and mission trips that were totally life changing. It was here at this youth group where I learned how to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Ever since then my life has never been the same.
Eventually we changed churches and in more recent years I was involved with the choir and praise teams along with church skits and major productions. God has also been using my gift of dance to bless people.
I was never into drugs, drinking, or pre marital sex. Sometimes I feel like I'm missing out, but I've come to realize that is a lie from the enemy. God's grace has kept me from a lot of pain and suffering. I know by being obedient to Him with the things He's asked us to (or not to) do and by waiting on Him He will honor that and bless us beyond our wildest imaginations. I'm still tempted with things that would probably blow your mind. Sometimes the temptation is so strong that I don't how I would ever get through. But, I know God allows for that only to make us stronger...as long as we don't give into it.
Today I live in Celebration, Florida. I moved away from my family two years ago to pursue a dream that God had placed on my heart. I am involved with the Goads ministry in the Orlando area. I work with Tim and Gaye Goad at their church doing dance performances, drama and am also a part of the praise team. I know God has called me here and I know that the plans He has for me are beyond anything I can think right now.
I'm still in a growing, learning, and stretching time, but aren't we all?? I'm thankful to the Lord for all He's done in my life so far and I can't wait to see what He has in store for me next. There are a few things on the horizon as I set out to step out again. It's a little scary, but exciting at the same time. I know the Lord wants me to be all that I can be. And I will do my best to work with Him to make sure that happens.
