|
I went to Sunday School and Church every Sunday and then began going to youth group. We used to go into Boston every Saturday to Tremont Temple for Boston Youthtime. When I was 13 I went forward and accepted Christ. I was very excited, around my christian friends,but around my secular friends I didn't want them to think I was a "Jesus Freak" so I didn't tell them. I lived the typical life of a teen throughout high school and didn't think much more about Jesus. I drank, smoked and did things that I'm not very proud of, all to be part of the crowd and put Jesus on a back burner. But I believe God still had His hand on my life. As I got closer to high school graduation I didn't know what I was going to do. I always thought that I would go to college but never did anything to achieve that goal. Then the Pastor of my church spoke to me and my parents about my going to a christian college about 2 hours from my home. I didn't want to go because I wanted the college "party experience". I visited the college with my Pastor and fell in love with the campus and the people there. I applied and was accepted. My sophomore year I rededicated my life to Jesus and have tried to live for Him ever since. My 4 years of college were some of the best in my life and I praise my Father in heaven that he NEVER gave up on me. I have since married (28 years) and have a 21 year old daughter who loves the Lord and is seriously thinking of going into mission work!
