I give all the Glory and Honor to my Lord and Saviour.
I was brought up in a Christian home. I met my husband when I was 15 years old and we married when I was 16 he was 21 which I know it was a very young age to be married but I thank God for my husband because like the marriage vows say what God has joined together let no man put us under. My husband and I truly believe that we were joined together by God. We have been married for 33 years. We were blessed with two great kids and two precious granddaughters.
As I said I was brought up as a Christian at the age of 21 my husband and I backslid for 23 years. I started smoking, going to the clubs I loved to dance, still do but now I dance for the Lord. I tried everything that the world had to offer. Drinking, drugs you name it I tried it. But God is such a merciful and loving God that although I turned my back on him he never turned his back on me. He was always there waiting for me to ask him back into my heart. Because unlike the enemy, God is a gentleman he knocks on your door and if you want to let him in he will come in. I Thank God everyday for my salvation. I started to feel like there was something missing in my life I had stop using drugs for almost 8 years I know that was God's doing. One day I decided I was going to have my fortune told. I went to this fortune teller that told me all kinds of things. Now mind you the devil knows your life he knows your weaknesses and he knows what buttons to push. What he didn't know was what God's plan was for my life and I always tell everyone the devil drove me straight back to the Lord. I remember being alone in my house the very next day and I suddenly felt an unwelcome presence in my house I started feeling chills up and down my spine. I was afraid in my own home. I suddenly felt the need to pray because even though I was a backslider I still had the fear of God in me. I grabbed my a bible and I opened it to Psalm 91 and I started going from one room in my house to another reading out loud. I use to love to sing when I was in church and I started to sing a song that I use to sing in Spanish titled "Alone I spoke to my Lord" As I sang the song out loud That unwelcome presence became stronger and more real. Suddenly I heard myself proclaiming the Blood of Jesus and I said Lord if you remove this presence right now from my home I promise that I will go to your house on Sunday and give my heart to you publicly and never look back on the worldly things again and I will serve you until the day I die or the day you come again. Let me tell you there was an instant peace in my home Praise God!! I kept my promise and on Sunday morning I went to the church of which I belong to now and before the Pastor finished the sentence of who would like to give their hearts to the Lord my hand raised high up as if I had gotten an electric shock. The amazing thing about this all, is that even though I had been brought up as a Christian I was not a true Christian all those years I did not really have a true encounter with Christ I had not truly had him in my heart, sure I went through the motions and I praised him and I sang to him but he was not in me.
Now is that I truly believe I am free I am living that first love that everyone talks about,I have a relationship with my Saviour. I feel his presence like never before and I stand against the enemy for Jesus. I have been back in God's grace for almost six years now. My husband came to the Lord just a couple of months after I did and we are serving the Lord. We are both Graduates from Bible College and missionaries in our church. Just recently we came from a trip to Nicaragua there we had the honor of preaching the gospel and won souls for Christ. This was the first missionary trip for my husband with me, but it was the sixth trip for me I had been on missionary trips with our Pastors to Santo Domingo, Venezuela, Guatemala and Haiti and I tell you God glorified himself in these third world countries. My husband and I have a great calling in the ministry from the Lord and we shall continue doing his work. All the Glory and honor to him.
I have many favorite verses in the Bible but my very favorite is
Isaiah 40:31
but they who wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles;they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
We are God's Eagles.
I also like Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"
