Shara's Testimony
I believe that stories are very important and I want to share a story with you that has challenged and forever impacted me. It's the story of my baby brother, Luke.

Luke was a healthy young man with a very bright future ahead of him. He was an accomplished singer, songwriter, composer, recording artist, musician, writer/poet, artist. He had his own band, called "Grace Age". He and his girlfriend of 5+ years, Jessica, were going to be married next summer (2008).

On Friday, July 13th, 2007, Luke worked his early morning shift at the factory where he had just 2 weeks prior gotten a job after several months of searching. Later that afternoon and evening, he and Jess were hanging out. They went out to eat, and were working on taking care of some "Grace Age" business.

Around midnight, Luke dropped Jessica off at her house and he headed home with plans of meeting for lunch the next day. Luke went to bed that night and around 2am woke up in Heaven. He had no idea his lunch date with Jess would be cancelled, for he had a "Breakfast Date" with God.

In Luke's 21 short years on this Earth he touched more people's lives than most of us have in all our years here. He was the epitome of Christ, loving everyone unconditionally and striving to make sure that everyone he met heard the message of salvation and received a Bible. He is remembered as a "Gentle Leader and Humble Servant".

When completing his online profile Luke was asked who he would like to meet. His response was "Jesus. And maybe the devil, but only to inflict some kind of harm". When asked about his favorite books his response was, "The Bible and that's really about it". When asked about heroes, he simply responded, "God". THAT was Luke! Everything else in life...work, college, etc., was just in the way and secondary. Had he had the choice to do nothing but study the Bible, write songs/compose music, witness, pray, he would have been in Heaven on Earth.

One example of the impact of Luke's life is a young man named Kyle. Kyle is the drummer for "Grace Age" and a long time friend of Luke's. After Luke's death, Kyle said, and I quote, "I'll never forget all the times that Luke tried to introduce me to God. Well, I have found Him now! NOW I understand why Jesus died for us. Luke died so I would be saved. If it had not been for Luke, I would NEVER have gone to church or opened the Bible".

Kyle accepted Christ just 2 days after Luke's death. Kyle also accepted God's call on his life to carry Luke's message and ministry forward through "Grace Age".

I want to challenge all of you as I have been challenging myself since Luke's death.

What have YOU done for Jesus lately?

What will YOUR legacy be?
