Lisa's Testimony
I was placed in adoption by my biological mother, but God had his hand and direction in my life from day one! He made it so that my devout Catholic biological parents wouldn't stipulate I be adopted another Catholic family. My adoptive parents primarily my mother, were Christians and involved in church placing me in a christian environment early on. I was raised in the church and heavily involved, however it was the tragic death of my adopted brother at the age of 17 where God again led our family closer to him. At that time my mother had divorced and remarried a wonderful Christian man she had met at church. After my brother's death we moved and started attending another church. Searching for answers in relation to my brother's death..I responded to an altar call at the age of 8. I became even more involved in church from that point on all through my teenage years. I even attended a Christian college, however after graduation I moved out and began to back slide away from God's calling in my life. Out of shame and fear like alot of christians, I allowed the devil to lie to me and make me feel like I couldn't go to church anymore because I wasn't living the way that I knew God wanted me to live my life. I dated a non Christian guy for a long time but was so unhappy. I eventually decided that God wanted to impact my life but I needed to change my behavior and put myself back into a church environment. I am now heavily involved in my local church and pray everyday for God to use me in any capacity that will honor and glorify him.
