Jacob's Testimony
Well I grew up going to church and things like that but I was really just going thru the motions. I began to go through some really hard things with relationships and school and things of that nature. Instead of turning to God I began to consider suicide. it got to the point where I was in my room by myself with a knife in my hand ready to be done with everything fully committed to my decision, just before I actually "escaped" my problems something stopped me, I knew that that wasn't an option and I didn't wanna put my family and friends through that. I began to go to youth group once a friend invited me. I saw a quality in the kids at youth group that I really liked and I wanted to have it in myself. I was holding myself back for some reason though. I kept telling myself "once I have 'proof' I'll believe" over and over again. I then went to discipleship camp at Hume Lake in August and it changed my life. we spent solo time in the woods just talking to God and meditating and listened to some amazing speakers. it was a wednesday during solo time when i decided the only way to live was for Christ. I gave my life to christ at the age of 16 at wildwood. Something happened to me the tuesday before though. I was sitting in the forest thinking about my life and this so called 'proof' and bam it hit me. My friend had been the proof the whole time. I listened to her testimony and it totally yanked on my heart strings a few days before camp. she's gone through some stuff that made my trials look like a trip to disneyland but she managed to pull through and grow closer to God. I was completely blown away. What I had been looking for for so long had ben right in front of my face the whole time. i just started a new year at youth group and i'm absolutely ecstatic to grow in my faith and etc. i just wanna thank all of the people from Wildwood and youth group and my friends and family.
