FIRST AND FOREMOST I HAVE TO THANK GOD FOR WITHOUT HIM I WOULD BE LOST. I HAVE BEEN A BORN AGAIN/SAVED CHRISTIAN FOR NEARLY TWO YEARS. I AM THE SEVENTH OF TEN SIBLINGS; FIVE GIRLS AND FIVE BOYS. WE MOVED TO CA. FROM MO. IN THE SUMMER OF SEVENTY-SIX. I WAS FIVE AND A HALF YEARS OLD. MY MOTHER HAD JUST DIVORCED MY FATHER. IN THE BEGINING THINGS WENT WELL. ABOUT FOUR YEARS AFTER WE MOVED HERE SOMEONE CLOSE TO THE FAMILY SEXUALLY ABUSED ME FOR SOME TIME. AFTER IT ALL CAME OUT I WAS ONLY MADE TO FEEL LIKE THE BAD ONE. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY KIND OF COUSELING OR SUPPORT FROM THOSE AROUND ME. NEEDLESS TO SAY I GREW UP ANGERY AT THE WORLD. BY THE TIME I WAS SIXTEEN I WAS DRINKING AND HAVING SEX. EVENTUALLY I WOULD END UP WITH A BABY BY THE TIME I WAS SEVENTEEN. BY THEN I WAS LIVING WITH MY BOYFRIEND AND HIS MOM. ALL I DID WAS DRINK AND FIGHT WITH HIM. I BEGAN TO SELL DRUGS AND HANG AROUND A DANGEROUS GROUP OF GUYS, HARD CORE GANG MEMBERS. I WAS NOT CUT OUT FOR THIS. WE WERE RAISED IN CHURCH FROM THE TIME I WAS BORN IN 1970 UNTIL THE LATE 80'S CHURCH, GOD, AND JESUS WAS ALL WE BREATHED MY MOM WAS THE "AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE WE WILL SERVE THE LORD" TYPE, AND SHE MEANT THAT. THERE WAS NEVER A THOUGHT IN MY MIND DURING THAT TIME TO EVEN THINK ABOUT ASKING IF WE COULD MISS A SERVICE. SUNDAY-SUNDAY WE WERE IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD. BUT THERE I WAS IN THE HOUSE OF DRUG DEALERS AND GANG MEMBERS. ABOUT A YEAR LATER I WAS KNOW FOR MY DRUNKEN RAGES AND THE TEENAGER THAT SOLD DOPE. BY THE TIME I WAS EIGHTEEN AND A QUARTER I MET MY HUSBAND TO BE; (ALL THIS TIME JESUS WAS FAR FROM MY MIND, IT AS THOUGH I HAD NEVER EVEN KNOWN HIM) WE MARRIED 11 DAYS AFTER MY 19TH BIRTHDAY. HE BEGAN TO BEAT ME THE MORE HE BEAT ME THE MORE I DRANK. THEN I FOUND OUT HE WAS GETTING HIGH. BUT INSTEAD OF LEAVING HIM OR TRYING TO GET HIM HELP I JOINED HIM. THEN BEATINGS GOT WORSE AND SO DID I. STILL I DID NOT CALL ON GOD. WELL AFTER I HAD OUR SON, I LEFT HIM. I BEGAN THEN TO GET HIGH ONLY A DAILY BASIS. I WAS RAPED SEVERAL TIMES, AS WELL AS KIDNAPPED, RAPED AND SODOMIZED. I JUST KNEW THIS MAN WOULD KILL ME; THAT'S WE I CALLED ON JESUS! I PRAYED AND ASK GOD TO SPARE MY LIFT PLEASE GOD DONT LET ME DIE LIKE THIS I PLEADED. THEN I RECALLED THE SCRIPTURE A SOFT ANSWER TURNETH AWAY WRATH BUT GRIEVIOUS WORDS STIRS UP ANGER. INSTANTLY I BECAME CALM AND SO DID THE MAN. HE BEGAN TO ASK ME WHY HE SHOULD LET ME LIVE. THEN HE SAID HE'D TAKE ME TO HIS FRIEND AND IF SHE SAID I COULD LIVE THEN HE'D LET ME GO. BY THIS TIME I HAD BEEN BEATEN WITH THE BUTT OF HIS GUN, HE'D BURNT MY BREAST WITH A LIGHTER TAKEN MY CLOTHES AS I LAY BLEEDING FROM MY HEAD AND EAR IN THE BACK SEAT OF HIS CAR. GOD INTERVENED THIS WOMAN NEW ONE OF MY BROTHERS AND SINCE WE HAVE DISTINTIVE FEATURES SHE KNEW I HAD TO BE RELATED. SHE BEGGED THE MAN NOT TO KILL ME AND EVEN COVINCED HIM TO STOP HITTING AND STOMPING ME ON HER LIVING ROOM FLOOR. IN BETWEEN THAT TIME SHE HAD GOTTEN ME A ROBE TO COVER UP WITH. MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT SHE COVINCED HIM TO LEAVE AND THE POLICE AND MY BROTHER WERE CALLED. SEE, EVEN AFTER I HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT JESUS FOR ALL OF THOSE YEARS HE WAS RIGHT THERE WITH OUTSTRETCHED ARMS. HE NEVER LEFT ME TODAY I AM DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE 71/2 YEARS NOW, AND AM THE CO-FOUNDER OF WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT. MY SISTER TARCI AND I ARE IN THE PROCEES OF EMPLAMENTING A NONPROFIT SECTION OF OUR COMPANY GEARED TOWARD BUT NOT LIMITED TO ADULT ABUSED AS CHILDREN. IT WILL BE A LITERARY MENTORING PROGRAM. THIS IS HOW WE OVERCAME OUR ISSUES WRITING LETTERS TO GOD, JOURNALING AND EVENTUALLY WRITING AND PUBLISHING OUR BOOKS. GOD HAS BEEN SO GOOD TO US HE SPARED OUR LIVES SO MANY TIME NIETHER SHE NOR I CAN PUT THEM ALL DOWN. PLEASE PRY FOR US AS WE VENTURE OUT ON THE PATH THE LORD HAS LAID FOR US. I AM EAGER AND EXCITED ABOUT SPREADING THE WORD. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
