I am 14 and a pastor's son. I always was around the church and grew up with church. But I never really understood what it meant to be a true Christian. I never knew you could hear God and that you could have an intimate love relationship with Him. About last summer I started learning about God's true love and I always accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior but I was I guess what you called ashamed of saying that. I was ashamed that I wanted to live for God. And I held that inside of me for the longest time ever. Until during one of my winter retreats, there was another alter call. And I told myself once again that I couldn't go up. Because what would people think of me. Would they think of my differently? But then that moment God truly spoke to me. It was so clear and direct. And so I went up to the alter call and proclaimed that Jesus is my Lord and Savior and that I was going to live my life for Him and Him only.
Ever since my salvation God has really changed my personality and just the person that I am. He has raised my up in leadership in my youth group. He has used me this summer on my mission trip to Chicago so amazingly. And it seems like the more time I spend loving, learning, and hanging out with God. The more I want to be with Him. The more I love Him. It's like He's my best friend. I can tell Him all my secrets, struggles, joys, sorrows, and anything else. He is my ultimate comforter. And most of all, He is my Father!
